Connect Instagram
Connect your Instagram account to receive and respond to customer messages through Instagram Direct.
How It Works
When a customer sends you a direct message on Instagram, ChatAsynq receives the message and generates a response.
- A customer sends a direct message to your Instagram account.
- ChatAsynq receives the message event.
- A response is generated based on your AI settings and knowledge base.
- The response is sent back through Instagram.
Connect Your Instagram Account
Instagram uses an authorization flow, so you do not need to manually enter access credentials.
- Click Add Connection.
- Sign in to your Instagram account.
- Complete the authorization process.
Account Information
After connecting your account, your Instagram account information will be displayed.
- View your Instagram username.
- View your profile image.
- Check the current connection status.
Enable or Disable Responses
Control whether automatic responses to Instagram direct messages are enabled.
- Enabled: Receive and respond to direct messages.
- Disabled: Pause automatic responses.
Authorization
Instagram uses access tokens to authorize the connection. Authorization may need to be renewed when access expires or permissions change.
- Authorization may have an expiration period.
- Access may become invalid if permissions change.
- Reauthorize your account when the connection is no longer valid.
You can check the last authorization time to help determine whether the connection may need to be renewed.
Common Actions
After connecting your Instagram account, you can:
- Disconnect: Remove the Instagram account connection.
- Reauthorize: Refresh the permissions required by ChatAsynq.
Common Issues
Try reauthorizing your Instagram account if:
- Direct messages are no longer being received.
- Messages cannot be sent successfully.
- Your connected account information is displayed incorrectly.
Test Your Connection
We recommend testing the connection after setup.
- Send a direct message from a test account.
- Confirm that the response is received correctly.
- Reauthorize the connection if necessary.
Recommendation
If the connection has not been used for an extended period or Instagram permissions have changed, reauthorize the connection to ensure messages can be received and sent correctly.
